Using logic expressions (and, or, etc) when creating reports/views

Is it possible to use logic expressions like and & or when creating reports?

I would like to create a report that shows me all of my clients over a certain age. The problem here is that prior to starting with the company the age/birthday field was created as just a text field so I cannot simply search for people born between two separate dates. I need to search for all entries that "contain" a certain birth year. The problem here is that I don't know how to use a logic expression to search this way.

I want to bring up people in our database that were born in 1985 OR 1986 OR 1987, etc. I've tried using the word "or" and just inserting commas but it appears that neither of these act as the logic expression "or"...Any help here would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Re: Using logic expressions (and, or, etc) when creating reports/views

Here are a couple of ideas for you;

You can create a new custom field as "date" field. You can then use the "greater than", "less than", or "between" options for dates to create the view.

If you are using the Business Edition of PlanPlus Onlne, under the Tool Menu there is a Querry builder that will allow you to build and/or reports.

Now, if your data is in the wrong field type you can try creating a Report that includes the First Name, Last Name, Display Name, Contact Number and the birthday text field. Export the data to CSV, and open it in Excel. Then create a new custom field with the proper type = date. Then reformat the values in your csv file using Excel to be proper dates. Then, re-import your data. Map the dates to your new date field. All of the other fields should merge in to the old record.

Hope this helps.
